Mama’s Blessing

A Sacred Encounter with Divine Love

The day my mother left this world, something beyond words unfolded. It wasn’t just the loss of her physical presence; it was as though the fabric of reality shifted, revealing a sacred truth that I had only glimpsed in fleeting moments before. For three days, I dwelled in a space that felt untouched by time. The ordinary dissolved, and what remained was an all-encompassing bliss—a Divine presence that carried her essence and something greater, something eternal.

In those three days, I didn’t grieve in the way I had expected. Instead, I was held—enveloped in a bliss so profound it felt as though the very air around me hummed with love. It wasn’t just her love, though I felt that radiating from every corner of existence. It was the sweetness of the love of the Divine, expansive and infinite, flowing through her, through me, through all of creation.

It was as if her soul had become one with the sacred, her love no longer bound by time or space. I could feel her everywhere: in the rustling of the trees, in the light streaming through the window, in the quiet beating of my own heart. She wasn’t gone. She was more present than ever, her love now woven into the very essence of life itself.

The Nature of Sacred Love

This experience taught me something I could never have learned from words alone. It showed me that love—the kind of love that flows freely, without condition or limit—is the very fabric of the Divine. It isn’t something we possess or lose. It’s something we participate in, something that moves through us and connects us to all that is.

Mama’s Blessing wasn’t just her gift to me. It was a revelation. It was as though the Divine had chosen that moment, her departure, to remind me of the sacred unity of all things. Her love became a doorway, opening my heart to the truth that we are never separate—not from each other, not from the Divine, not from the great, mysterious wholeness of life.

In those days, I felt no fear, no sorrow. Even in my tears, there was joy—a quiet, unshakable joy and awe that comes from knowing that love doesn’t end. It transforms. It expands. It moves from one form to another, like water flowing effortlessly from stream to river to ocean.

Living the Blessing

Her blessing didn’t fade when the mystical state lifted. It lives in me still, whispering to me in moments of doubt or fatigue, reminding me that I, too, am a vessel of sacred love. It invites me, daily, to live in a way that honors the truth I glimpsed in those days of grace: that every moment is an opportunity to love, to bless, to embody the Divine presence for others.

I’ve come to understand that we all leave blessings behind. Whether we realize it or not, the love we share, the compassion we extend, and the lives we touch create ripples that carry forward long after we’re gone. My mother’s blessing was her final gift to me, but it was also a gift to the world—a testament to the enduring power of love and the sacred thread that binds us all.

Each time I think of her, I feel her presence urging me to trust, to surrender, to live with an open heart. She reminds me that the greatest legacy we can leave is the love we give, the kindness we embody, and the ways we reflect the Divine light for others.

Reflection:

Think of someone who has touched your life deeply—someone whose presence has felt like a blessing. Reflect on the ways their love or lessons continue to shape you. What would you call their blessing?

Write about your experience, or, if words aren’t your medium, create something—a painting, a piece of music, or even a simple movement that honors their gift. Let their blessing inspire you to become a blessing for others.

If creating feels overwhelming, simply sit with their memory. Imagine their love surrounding you like a warm embrace. What wisdom does it offer? How does it invite you to live?

From my heart to yours…

Mama’s Blessing has taught me that love never truly leaves us. It transforms, it carries us, and it asks us to carry it forward. May the blessings you have received—those sacred gifts of love and connection—continue to guide you, inspire you, and remind you of the Divine presence that holds us all.

May you trust that the love you give, even in the smallest of moments, leaves an imprint that can ripple out in ways far beyond what you can imagine. Together, we are part of something vast, beautiful, and eternal.

With eternal Love,
Laurie
