Finding My Purpose

What is my purpose? When I was in my early twenties, I wrestled with this question as though my very existence depended on finding the "right" answer. I tried on different careers, relationships, and identities, all the while searching for something that felt solid, lasting, and true. It wasn’t until I hit a period of complete burnout that I realized I had been looking in the wrong places.

One day, exhausted and disillusioned, I went for a long walk in nature. The trees, the wind, the quiet rhythm of my own breath—all of it reminded me of a truth I’d been ignoring: I didn’t need to “find” my purpose. I needed to reconnect with myself. It was in that moment, surrounded by the simplicity of the natural world, that I understood my purpose wasn’t a single destination or role. It was about living authentically, honoring the unique light within me, and letting that light guide my path.

In the stillness of the heart, beneath the layers of expectation and striving, this question whispers like a soft, insistent wind. The world often urges us to “find” our purpose as though it were a hidden treasure buried somewhere outside of ourselves. Yet, the answer dwells not in the seeking, but in the being. Your purpose is not something to discover, but something to embody.

To live authentically—to walk in alignment with your soul’s deepest truth—is the essence of purpose. It is the quiet yet profound realization that who you are, at your very core, is enough. This is not a purpose dictated by roles or accolades, but by the simple, radiant expression of your inner light.

When you live this truth, your purpose becomes a living, breathing part of you. It infuses your actions, your words, and your presence with authenticity and grace. Purpose is the creativity that flows through your hands as you paint, write, or build. It is the kindness that sparks through your service to others. It is the courage that rises in you when you dare to live fully, unapologetically, as yourself.

The Quest

Your journey, then, is not to chase purpose but to express it. How can you bring your soul’s truth into the world? Through creativity, you give voice to the beauty and depth within. Through service, you honor the interconnectedness of all beings. Through courage, you step beyond fear and into the freedom of self-realization.

Every moment becomes an opportunity to embody your purpose. The simplest acts—a smile, a kind word, a moment of stillness—can be infused with the sacred energy of who you truly are. When you align with your soul’s truth, you radiate an authenticity that inspires others to step boldly into their own light.

Fulfillment

Fulfillment arises not from reaching a destination but from the freedom of living as your fullest self. You become a beacon, not by striving, but by shining—naturally, effortlessly, as you are. And in doing so, you invite others to do the same. This is the ripple effect of purpose realized: a world illuminated by individuals living their unique truth.

Today, pause and reflect on how you can embody your purpose. Let your creativity flow. Extend your hand in service. Take one small, courageous step toward your most authentic self. Trust that this is enough. Trust that you are enough.

The journey is not about becoming; it is about being. And in the simple act of being your truest self, you fulfill the sacred purpose of your soul.

An Invitation

Today, I invite you to sit with one of life’s most profound and tender questions:

What is my purpose?

But let us approach this question gently, without the weight of expectation or the pressure to “find” something outside of yourself. Your purpose is not a task or a destination; it is the essence of who you already are.

Begin by finding a quiet space where you feel safe and centered. Light a candle, place your hand over your heart, or take a few deep breaths to ground yourself. Close your eyes for a moment and feel the stillness within, the soft rhythm of your being. This is where your journey begins.

Let these questions guide your reflection/journaling:

Who am I when I feel most alive, authentic, and free?
Reflect on the moments when you felt deeply connected to yourself. What were you doing? How did it feel?

What unique gifts or qualities do I naturally bring to the world?
Think about the ways you show up for others and yourself—your creativity, kindness, strength, or compassion.

How can I embody my soul’s truth in my daily life?
Explore small, meaningful ways you can express your purpose through your actions, words, and presence.

What holds me back from living fully as my authentic self?
With honesty and compassion, name any fears, doubts, or external expectations that keep you from shining your light.

What does it mean to me to live as a vessel for my soul’s truth?
Imagine your life infused with purpose, not as something you do but as something you are. What would this look and feel like?

Use this affirmation at the end of your time in contemplation and hold it in your heart as you move through your day:

I am a vessel for my soul’s deepest truth. By living authentically, I inspire others to shine in their light.

As you close your reflection/journaling session, consider one simple action you can take today to align with your soul’s truth. Perhaps it’s expressing yourself, offering kindness to someone in need, or pausing to honor your own journey with love and grace.

From my heart to yours…

Remember, beloved one, that your purpose is not something to seek but something to embody. It flows naturally from the truth of who you are. In living as your fullest self, you illuminate the path for others to do the same.

I walk this path with you.

Big Love, Laurie
