Return to Great Love

The soul is not a distant star to be reached, nor a hidden treasure to be found. It is the essence of who we are, the ever-present thread of life that weaves us into the infinite fabric of the Divine. We are not separate from the Creator or the Great Love that formed us. We are like the wave that never leaves the ocean, the golden thread that cannot be pulled from the tapestry, the flame that cannot part from the fire. To contact the soul is not to go somewhere new but to remember what has always been.

Great Love flows through us, around us, within us—unceasing, unbroken. It is the pulse of life itself, the sacred rhythm that animates all things. It has no boundaries, no conditions, no exclusions. And yet, how often we forget this truth. How often we look outward, striving, searching, longing for what was never absent. The soul waits patiently, whispering to us in moments of stillness, inviting us back to the truth of our being. To accept this invitation, all we must do is turn within, soften, and listen.

Grace: The Love That Holds Us

Grace is the very essence of this Love, wrapping its arms around us as we turn inward in quiet reverence. When we soften into stillness and open ourselves to what is already within, Grace meets us there. It is the gentle embrace that reassures us we are never alone. It is the steady compass, our true north, guiding us through life’s ups and downs with a centerpoint that holds us in safety and truth.

This Great Love is not something we must earn; it is given freely, abundantly. And once we are touched by it, we are forever changed. Even if we falter or forget, the memory of that touch remains, gently calling us back. To be touched by Love is to carry its mark in our very being, a quiet knowing that we can entrust ourselves to this sacred truth.

Once touched by Love, nothing is the same—it becomes the compass of your life, the anchor that holds you through every season.

Grace is a universal thread, weaving through the world’s faiths as an unearned blessing of Divine compassion and love. In Christianity, it is salvation’s gift; in Judaism, God’s steadfast love; and in Islam, Allah’s boundless mercy. Hinduism and Buddhism honor grace as the sacred aid guiding liberation, while Sikhism celebrates it as God’s loving glance. Indigenous and earth-based traditions see grace in the gifts of nature, while paths like Taoism, Zoroastrianism, and the Baha’i Faith embrace it as a sacred flow or benevolence. Across traditions, Grace reflects the transformative, loving power of the Divine.

When we connect with this Great Love—when we allow it to flow through us like a river of light—it becomes our anchor. It steadies us amid the shifting tides of life, reminding us that no storm can separate us from the Divine. Grace doesn’t erase the challenges we face, but it transforms how we meet them. With Love as our compass, we can walk through life with a quiet assurance, knowing we are always held.

A Personal Journey to Love

From as far back as I can remember, I was in love with the Divine. As a child, I felt a deep and abiding connection to something greater than myself, though I did not have the words to name it. The world felt alive with sacredness—the gentle sway of tree branches under a soft breeze, the glow of sunlight on water, the quiet moments when my heart seemed to sing a melody only I could hear. As I grew older, my longing for the Divine deepened. I spent my adulthood journeying through the holy books of the world, immersing myself in the teachings, stories, and wisdom of countless faiths. I sought the ultimate truth, yearning to understand the Great Love that had always drawn me close. I could intellectualize it all, grasp it with my mind, and speak of it with clarity and passion. But what I sought was something beyond words—an experience of that Love in its purest form.

Here and there, I caught glimpses. A quiet moment of prayer, a sudden wave of beauty that took my breath away, an unexpected sense of peace in the middle of chaos. But these were fleeting, like catching sight of a bird as it disappeared into the trees. For years, I wondered if I would ever truly feel the fullness of that Love.

And then my mother died.

In the days that followed her passing, I was immersed in a state of Grace I had never known. It was as though the Great Heart of the Universe had wrapped me in its arms, whispering, You are not alone. You have never been alone. For three days, I lived in the Truth of Love—not as a concept or a belief, but as the most real thing I have ever known. I was reminded, with undeniable clarity, that we are never apart from the One who created us, watches over us, and will one day draw us back into that incredible, beautiful Love.

Expressing What We Find Within

As we turn inward to meet this Love, we are invited to reflect, to contemplate, to listen. Grace speaks softly, and we can use the tools of creativity to hear and express its message. When we journal, create art, make music, or simply sit in silence, we give ourselves a way to articulate what we find within. These sacred practices become bridges, helping us integrate and fully take in the depth of the Love that lives within us.

Through creative expression, the Divine whispers we uncover within are brought into the light of the world. A journal entry, a brushstroke, a melody—all of these become sacred vessels for the Love we have met in the quiet. They allow us to carry that Love forward, not only as a personal experience but as a gift we can share.

The Truth of Love

The truth of life is this: we are never separate from the Great Heart that created us. We are always held, always seen, always loved. Even when we feel lost, even when the noise of the world drowns out the whispers of the soul, Love remains. It does not falter. It does not leave.

To turn within is to accept the invitation of this Love. It is to remember that we are not the drop cast adrift but the ocean itself. We are not fragments searching for wholeness but the sacred expression of a Love that has no end.

When we rest in this truth, we begin to see life differently. Challenges become opportunities to deepen our connection. Struggles remind us of the strength we carry. And the moments of stillness become sacred spaces where we meet the Divine within.

An Invitation

Pause for a moment.

  • Close your eyes and feel the rhythm of your breath. What arises when you rest in the stillness?

  • Reflect on your unique doorway to the soul. Is it nature, silence, prayer, or something else? How might you create space for it in your life?

  • Write a letter to the Great Love within you. What would you say if you could speak to the heart of the Divine?

From my heart to yours...

May you remember, dear one, that Grace is always holding you. In every quiet moment, in every softening breath, may you feel the Infinite Love that flows through and around you. Once touched by Love, nothing is the same—it becomes the compass of your life, the anchor that holds you through every season. May you rest in this sacred truth, knowing you are forever part of the Great Heart that formed you.

With deep love and trust,
Laurie
